Team motivation

Got my Tuesday lift in today. Our new team member came by but could only stay for a bit. She said, “You know, it’s so nice to have other people to exercise with! It really keeps you motivated.” I replied with a laugh, “Yeah, J is pretty much the main reason I go!” It’s much easier to stay committed when there’s someone showing up twice a week at 9:20am sharp to drag you to the gym. (Hopefully having to drag me to the gym twice a week keeps him motivated too!)

I didn’t try changing up my lifts yet. I need to do some research on what I’m looking for and maybe have the gym staff show me correct form. There’s a website,, that breaks things down by muscle and equipment and shows lots of variations. I might be able to get some ideas there.

I’ve been lifting weights for a while, but I realized the other day that I have no idea if I could do a push-up. I can bench 80 pounds, but can I do a push-up? Sometime when I’m alone I’m going to see what I can do…
