Sharing strength

Lifting today was fun. We’re trying to build our little gym party; hopefully we will have 2 new people who come at least once in a while. I don’t want to sound like a cheerleader, but I have a great time lifting weights and it’s really helped me feel strong and confident in my body, so I want to share that with other people.

My 20lb bicep curls are starting to get easier, slowly but surely. I’m not sure if this is new, but I am noticing it now: If I am near the limit of the number of reps I can do, I may not be able to summon the effort to do a big, fast muscle contraction but I can almost always sloooowly move the weight to where it needs to be. I also gave a new machine a try today: the assisted pull-up/dip machine. I like it! I could never do a pull-up on my own but I get the feeling it’s going be really gratifying reducing the assisting weight as I get stronger.
