Another fun day of lifting. Today was a little abbreviated– I took a few minutes before getting dressed to pay for a permanent locker in the locker room. My commute’s changed after moving and schlepping around a big, heavy gym bag every day on crowded public transit isn’t so pleasant. I’m still working out what I can keep in the locker– so far I’ve got shampoo/conditioner/soap, my shower flipflops, and a tube of deodorant. That helps a little but I’m sure I can do better.
The workout itself was good enough. I’m still sticking with and struggling through higher weights. It was hard today– maybe stacking swimming (mostly upper body) and lifting (mostly upper body) isn’t the best way to go about it? Granted, I’m just fitting swimming in where I can and it’s so fun I’m not giving it up. I guess I’ll just have to deal with it!
After my workout I had the best stretch. I suspected that I could use some foam rollering and I was right. It’s the good kind of pain, right? While I was panting and trying not to make a lot of noise while hitting very sore places with the roller, my chatty coworker came into the big room and started making conversation. I did a bit of grunting in reply– very coworker-ly of me. She kept going, so maybe it didn’t bother her much…
