Intensity

Mantra for today: If you want to get better, you have to work harder. 40 minutes on the treadmill today, and it net me about 3.25 miles. The first mile I ran as normal, the second mile I pushed myself to a barely-sustainable pace and kept it up until mile 3, and from then on I just had to keep it moving and finish the time. It was hard.

Now I have a post-exercise migraine. Luckily, I’m on my way home so I can put on a mindless movie and curl up with a jug of water, a couple Excedrin and maybe cookies.

My period blessed me with its presence in mile 2. It was a surprise; it wasn’t due until Sunday. Fantastic, right? And messy.
