Believe it or not, it took me until Sunday to fully recover from that legs day last Wednesday… I might have overdid it. There was much hobbling until then, and grimacing and wincing and other unpleasantness. I have no idea how I can make myself so good and properly sore with only 35 minutes of weight lifting.
But today I was finally able to go for a run! As I mentioned in the last post, I have a new pair of shoes and I was ready to take them for a spin. I tried 3 pairs (Nike Pegasus 29, Asics Gel-Equation 6, and Brooks Ghost 5. Why do running shoes have such ridiculous names?) My heels slipped in the Nikes (like they always do) and the toebox of the Asics was tight, but the Brooks fit well. On today’s run I found them to be not as squishy as I’ve gotten used to, but they were comfortable and didn’t cause any issues.
(See? It’s my feet! Why don’t they make wide shoes in fun colorways though?)
The run itself was okay; I just went out for a quick 30 minutes. It seems I’ve forgotten how to pace myself– I was flying for the first mile but then I pooped out. It felt good though, and I enjoyed the light rain as I ran.
