Workout A7 today– into the final stretch: 3 sets of 8. Since there were fewer reps, I had to add weight to everything: squats went to 115lb, rows to 77lb, and step-ups with 30lb in each hand (my hands held up fine). I struggled with the last sets.
It only took me 2 months, but I finally realized the mechanical basis of this series of workouts: this one is back push (pushup) and pull (row) and the other is shoulder push (press) and pull (lat pulldown). I feel like a genius now.
After my workouts I feel oddly… light. I mean, it makes sense; I just spent 40 minutes moving very heavy things around and my muscles are primed to keep doing it, and when it’s just me it is light in comparison. It’s just that, well, I am not light. But it’s neat to be strong enough that it feels that way sometimes.
