This morning I was feeling kind of sore and unmotivated. I had packed my gym clothes the night before and had optimistically chosen running gear, but this morning I wasn’t sure if I would put it to its proper use. I packed up my old running shoes because I suspected I would be ellipticaling or something, and headed out.
On the way to the gym I decided on maybe 20 minutes of some cardio thing and then yoga. But once I got dressed and went to the cardio room the treadmills called to me so I went ahead and hopped on… and 20 minutes passed, and then 30, and then 40… Finally at 45 minutes I figured that was plenty and stopped, though I could’ve kept going.
So yeah, a solid 3.8mi in 45 minutes. And I wasn’t even planning on running today? Whatever it is that causes these surprise awesome long runs, I wish I could bottle it and save it for when I’ve actually got a long run planned!
