5 more miles today. It didn’t go really well– I ran out of gas, probably because I was inexplicably non-hungry last night and skipped dinner and therefore had no gas in the tank. But I battled through and finished the dang thing, so at least I have the sense of accomplishment. I tried to run it a little faster than I normally would a long run, and it probably would’ve been okay if I had enough energy. :)
While I was running, I came up with an idea for the training plan extension: Next week I’ll do a mini-taper and run another test race on Saturday. That should give me an idea of where I’m at, then I can ramp back up until the actual race.
It looks like my weather luck is holding– tomorrow should be a great day to get out and run 7 miles.
