I have time constraints today, and yet I put off my run to the afternoon, right before a meeting. But I figured I could squeeze in 30 minutes– so it wasn’t quite the full workout I had planned, but it was a rather speedy 2.4 miles. (Yes, I had the GPS and not the accelerometer on this time!) If I can pull off that pace for just another half mile or so, I’ll do fine with my 5k. I’d like to work more on steadier pacing and endurance before the race, though.
I definitely overdressed today. This weather drives me nuts! It’s about 34ºF and sunny and a little windy, and I put on tights, shorts, wool socks, and a tshirt, pullover and fleece. Way too much clothing! Luckily it was a short run, because I was soggy. 2 days ago I was wearing capris and a tshirt, and I got sunburned. Go away, winter! (Of course, it’s going to snow tomorrow…)
My Nike Fuelband thing broke– the button doesn’t work anymore. (It’s very much a known problem for the device.) And I’m faced with a dilemma: do I want to repair/replace it, or can I let it go? I love more data but there comes a point where optimizing one’s life and fitness causes more stress and less benefit. I’m using a sleep tracker too, and I find myself worrying about falling asleep and having good sleep quality! It’s a little ridiculous. So maybe I can let it go.
