Tummy needs a vacation from my vacation

Well, that didn’t go as planned… I usually like to exercise in the morning but today I decided to try the afternoon, after we got back from our activities for the day. For lunch, about 2 hours before, I had eaten a not-great department store bento. I gave it time to settle, but I guess it wasn’t enough time– 15 minutes on the treadmill left me super queasy. So I gave up and went to the pool and floated around instead. I still don’t feel very good. Maybe I’ll try again tomorrow morning.

Food here is giving me a hard time. I don’t like to eat out a lot, and although Japanese home cooking is quite full of vegetables and deliciousness, it seems that restaurant meals here are just as heavy and hard for my stomach to deal with. I’ve been joking that all I want is a peanut butter sandwich on wheat bread. I spent ¥200 (about $2USD) on one apple from the store and it was totally worth it.

Maybe tomorrow it will stop raining and we can go to the beach…

    I have a hard time with restaurant food anywhere. I’m not particularly well-traveled though, so obviously I need to do some more research. Maybe I can get a grant. Or a Kickstarter. “I will travel around the world and eat at fancy restaurants, and then I will write about it.” Oh wait, I think that was the plot of Eat Pray Love.
