Standard combo workout today: all-around lifting followed by 20 minutes of fast running. This is becoming a Thing. I kind of like it; it hits all the buttons.
Well, last night I did yoga before bed– nothing fancy, just some easy stretchy stuff to settle my body and my head– and what do you know, I fell right asleep and slept really well. Now I just have to stick to it, I guess! Getting to bed earlier wouldn’t kill me, either…
I don’t think I mentioned this yet– over the weekend I got my hair cut. It was really long, like bottom-of-bra-strap length, and now it’s a short, barely chin-length asymmetric bob. I’m enjoying the shortness, though I had a crisis after leaving the salon; getting the cut was nerve-wracking. So I have fine but wavy hair, and I didn’t really pick a cut that suited it; the stylist cut it blunt, blow-dried it, and then just started hacking at it cutting volume out and then went at it with a straightening iron. Meanwhile I’m freaking out because I am not spending half an hour using a straightening iron every day. Heck, I can barely be bothered to wash my hair twice a week! (That’s going to have to change too…)
After my workout today was the first time I’d tried to style it myself, and I think I got a 75% solution with the blowdryer. Good enough. The length is fab for working out though; it’s so much cooler than a ponytail. So we’ll see how it goes. I’m not averse to going back in for a shorter style if this doesn’t cut it. Ha.
