At no time during this interval was I supposed to be lying on the floor

Back at the gym today after a long break. It was a hot weekend, and with my fresh tattoo I neither wanted to go out for a sweaty run, nor could I swim. (Sad about the no swimming thing. I’m not sure when I’ll be healed up enough to get back in the pool again– I might not make it again this season.) So I rested up and now the tattoo is gingerly healing so I went to lift this morning.

I added another 5lb to bench (to 115lb) and did 4 sets of 5 instead of 2 sets of 10. Then I did biceps, OHP, and front squats (ick). Usually when I’m back after a break, lifting is a little easier– but not this time.

However, after lifting I got the bug to do some HIIT, so I did 2 1 minute rounds of box jumps, kettlebell swings, dumbbell snatch, and box shuffles with 1 minute of jogging around the cardio room in between. Apparently I hadn’t tied my shoes very well– in the middle of the first round of box jumps I slipped somehow and wound up falling over the box and onto the floor with my shoe coming off and flying across the room. It was very graceful. How many times do I have to tell myself to lace my shoes more tightly for HIIT…

Hope you’re OK after your stumble :-(

Mine is just moving out of the ointment stage. But I think it’ll need a touch up, so I’m going to have to go through this again :-/ Heavy blackwork looks great but I guess it’s hard to fill in…
