Plans finalized; freaking out

After a weekend of schlepping around in a corset and drinking way too much, it was time to get back to the office and the gym today. I did my usual upper body lifts, added some squats with just the bar, weighted back extensions, lat pulldowns, and finished it off with a superset of myrtl and situps.

It was nothing too fancy or strenuous, which is good because the weather has cleared and plans have finally crystallized– we’re getting ready to do the full 4-day, 40-odd mile backpacking trip this weekend. And now I’m starting to freak out, thinking about doing the whole thing and all the bits that I still need and being anxious that I won’t be able to get everything in time. (I don’t want to go back to REI and spend more money /cry).

This weekend was fun, if exhausting. My friend flew into town, and she is wonderfully serious about the rennfaire. We wore some fantastic outfits– which is honestly my favorite part. She was a hooded assassin, while I borrowed some random animal pelts from my partner (don’t ask why he has them, I don’t even know), put on a ratty fringed blanket, a long wig and some curly ram horns and looked like something that walked out of the woods. It’s like all the best parts of Halloween.

    Is the corset related to the rennfaire…? I’m a little confused about this.

    Your backpack trip sounds really cool and exciting. It should be a great experience!

      Yes, I think I wrote the post a bit out of order!

      I’m excited for the trip too. I’ll probably be writing more about it the next couple days– and after, of course :)
