It’s a nasty grey, rainy day, but it’s a short Friday and after my workout I was feeling cheerful. I felt a little silly walking around my office smiling.
Today was another hard cardio day– more intervals, but I didn’t go as hard as on Wednesday. I started off with 10 minutes on the rowing machine. I had wanted to go a little longer, but my shoulder sockets and hips were yelling at me. Rowing is haaard :( Then I did another 35 sweaty minutes of elliptical intervals.
This week has been full of tough workouts, but for the most part I haven’t been very sore– which is kind of amazing. I’m used to being barely able to move after getting back to weightlifting. I must be doing something right? I haven’t been drinking (I notice my joints always feel a little hot after a drink) and I’ve been trying to get plenty of protes and enough sleep. Is that enough? For now, I guess so.
My breakfast needs help, though. My mornings last just long enough to pour a cup of coffee into my face and get dressed before running out the door to catch the train, and lately the first meal of the day has been… a spoonful of crunchy peanut butter, eaten from the spoon. My husband thinks I’m nuts. I have a scoop of whey protein after my workout, too, but that’s hours later. I guess the peanut butter is healthful enough (it really does have a good mix of macros for first thing in the morning) and best of all it’s fast. Whatever works…
