When other parts of my life (ahem, work) are a wreck, at least I can go lift heavy things and feel like I’ve accomplished something. Actually, I have a couple workouts to write about today– playing catch-up again– so I get to re-live 3 days of accomplishment!
Sunday: 6.8 miles in a rain/ice storm. Maybe it wasn’t the best idea to go out in that crap weather– the sidewalks were slippery in spots, and I was soaked, thank goodness for my wool base layer– but I took it slowly and didn’t fall or hurt myself so that was a win. (And then I could enjoy Super Bowl snacks to a greater degree after the long run.)
Monday: Yoga. Pretty chill. My hips were sore, which is typical, but I took my time and got some stretch on. Oh, and a bunch of pushups, before the yoga.
Tuesday: 5x5B, with a goal of getting it done with some velocity. These workouts are getting heavy and my rests are getting long, and it’s making it hard to fit in. Today I tried to keep rests minimal and stack my warmups to save time, and I completed this in an hour.
Squat – 2x5x45lb, 2x5x115lb (warmup), 5x5x160lb
OHP – 2x5x45lb (warmup), 5x5x70lb (I think I can put 5lb more on next time)
Deadlift – 5x135lb, 5x205lb (warmup), 5x225lb
Okay, those are good big numbers and I’m pleased with that for today. Gonna carry that good feeling along as I get back to work.
