疲れました

When you’re studying a foreign language, sometimes you come across words and phrases that feel more loaded with meaning than your native ones. Like "疲れました", which means literally, "I got tired", but with the extra connotation of being worn out, used up or exhausted. Accurate!

Yesterday I only had time for 25 minutes on the treadmill first thing before my whirlwind day started– I was literally booked solid with meetings until 4:30. I was glad to get the workout in, anyway. When I went home I worked some more– cooked some bonus food, assembled and populated the plant shelves in the sun room and found some furniture for other plants to sit on, cleaned and swept the kitchen (ants are visiting, gotta make sure it’s extra clean so they move it along) and then I had an hour to sit down with my work laptop and try to catch up before collapsing into bed. (I have 2 talks at a conference next week and neither are ready…)

Today was a quick bench workout at 140lb that went a lot better than I expected. The last couple weeks I was strugglebusing at 135lb so I felt like 140lb was pretty ambitious, but the bar seemed to go up easy this time. I still had to split some sets (4,1) and(3,2) with micro-rests (that is, I put the bar back on the rack for some seconds, keep my hands on the bar, but release tension and take a quick rest) but I got through all 5 sets.

Bench – 10x45lb, 2x5x95lb, 2x5x115lb, 5x5x140lb
OHP – 3x5x65lb
bonus biceps
