Yesterday was a twofer; I did my exercise prescription in the morning (lats and core, oh my) and a 5x5B in the evening with $husband. We’ve figured out a system to swap out weights quickly since he’s lifting more than me sometimes. I’m still working on putting more weight on OHP, squats are getting heavy (5×5 BW fun times), and he’s still struggling with DLs. It’s probably about time to belt up… anyone got any recommendations for a lady-sized powerlifting belt?
Squat – 5x5x165lb
OHP (seated) – 5x5x75lb
DL – 5x135lb, 1x185lb (just as a reminder that I still can go heavier heh)
Today was a stupid treadmill run, the weather is nice and I wanted to go outside but time did not allow. 3.12mi in 30:46. Afterwards I did a little yoga and stretched and dripped all over the gym floor.
My busiest season of the year is starting– the local Renaissance Faire kicks off this weekend. (cue singing, "It’s the most wooonderful tiiime of the yeaaaaarrrr…") My friends want to do the 9-visit pass this year. Let’s see if I manage to survive the season without getting sick like I usually do. I’ve shrunk rather a lot since last September but, praise jeebus, the leather corset I spent way too much money on last year still fits. Only just – it closes up almost all the way in the back – but I can still wear it. I bought a fancy new awesome belt in the off season, $husband has promised me some leatherworking services for other bits I want for my costumes… I’m sewing him a tabard, it’s a fair trade I think… and I have a couple other things to get together (pants! shirt! fancy wig/headpiece!) Busy busy. Oh did I mention I have more work travel next week too? (I am taking a project or two for the plane, it’s a 6 hour flight…)
I always find it difficult sharing equipment with the husband. But we usually manage to figure out who will do what when, and have enough plates (and two bars) that we rarely come to a real impasse.
I know you will find this shocking, but I’ve only been to one Renaissance fair in my life. Perhaps in your honor I’ll go to one this year.
The Faire in your state is actually really excellent! I hope you go and check it out :)
As long as I can get a damn turkey leg sold by a bellowing pony-tailed guy.
I hope so!!
