turning Halloween candy into speed

First speed work of the condensed training cycle: 5x400m 1×1 intervals. Work intervals ranged from 9’30" to 8’00" (I always make them harder as the workout progresses), and a 0.5mi cooldown at the end, for 3 miles even, 9’58" overall. If this is my training baseline I should be in excellent shape for my 30 minute 5k goal. Maybe I should move the goalposts.

I don’t eat much candy these days (low-carb life will do that) but I couldn’t help from grabbing a few pieces from the bowl as we handed out treats to trick-or-treaters. However, I am confident that the Reeses and Snickers minis have now been converted to kinetic energy.
