it counts

I have today off; at 2pm I have to go to wedding dress fitting #2 and see if the seamstress could let the hips out enough on my dress. (Fingers crossed.)

So, I had a big block of time this morning to do whatever I felt like. It’s a nice sunny day, and I figured it would be a good chance to do a Pokemon Go scouting mission. I walked along the trail, down the road, and saw that there were a bunch of pokestops at the mall so I went over there. Sadly, the GPS and cell reception at the mall was crappy, and nothing worked very well. But in the process of walking 4 miles or so I hatched 2 eggs, caught a couple pokemon, and got a bit of exercise while I was at it. It counts as a workout. :)

My car is 11 years old and the long, 650 mile drives to and from my parents’ are starting to worry me. On this weekend’s itinerary is going and test-driving a couple cars I’ve had my eye on. The biggest problem is that I want a manual, and those are hard to find these days! We’ll see if I can find any on the lots.

I’ve always driven a manual and they are indeed rare these days. I’m looking to buy a small SUV next year, maybe a Honda CR-V, and they don’t even offer it.

Yeah, unless you’re buying either a bottom-of-the-range small car or a sports car, no one offers them anymore. Even trucks don’t have them (I don’t know how you’d tow with an automatic, seems scary).

Lucky for me, I’ll probably be buying one of those bottom-of-the-range small cars. Possibly with a sporty package. But I prefer good gas mileage to lots of space.

I have a Honda FIT, and can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s not exactly cheap because it’s a Honda, but it’s a small car with some sporty options, fantastic mileage, and an enormous amount of cargo space for its size. And it’s available with manual transmission.

I’ve heard good things about the Fit!
